Yesterday's Office Lunchtime, January 8, 2025
ブログ
Yesterday, I worked from the office. After finishing my lunch at the company cafeteria, I went on a short walk to run some fun errands.

First, I had lunch at the company cafeteria. My wife had prepared a delicious and varied Bento (boxed lunch), which included the following:
Bottom layer: pan-fried rice with salmon, egg, leek, perilla leaves and white sesame.
Upper layer (from left): chikuwa (steamed fish cake); taro with edamame, Japanese plum and yuzu pepper; miso pork with cabbage, carrots and shimeji mushrooms.

After lunch, I went to a gachapon (capsule toy) shop in the underground mall around Tokyo Station. The machine pictured in the photo below dispenses one of five possible key straps with characters related to a popular Japanese potato snack called “Calbee Jagariko”. I got one to bring back as a present for my wife.

Then I went to the Maruzen bookstore inside the Marunouchi Oazo building. I hadn’t really noticed so far, but on the upper floor they actually have a huge section with Beatles-themed stationery and other memorabilia.

Time flew quickly and I had to return to my desk. On the way back to the office building, I got a hot cup of takeout coffee at a convenience store.
