At the Pond, Hofukuji Temple, Soja, Japan

岡山県・総社市・宝福寺

An elderly couple enjoys a quiet moment by the pond on a fine autumn day at Hōfukuji Temple in Sōja, Okayama Prefecture, Japan.

Priest Sesshū, Japan’s famous 15th Century painter, studied at this temple as a child. Legend has it that one day during this time, he managed to paint a mouse using only his tears.

Shot with Nikon D200 and Nikkor 18-200mm f/3.5-5.6 lens. Edited in Lightroom 5.7.
