School Trip to Horyuji Temple, Nara, Japan

Students are taking a guided tour outside Hōryūji Temple in Nara, Japan.

This view is from the southern approach to the temple’s premises. Reconstructed at least 1,300 years ago, the Kondō (main hall) of Horyuji is widely recognized as the world’s oldest wooden building.
