Annie Pfeiffer Chapel, Lakeland, Florida

アメリカ・フロリダ州・フロリダ・サザン・カレッジ

Detail of the stained-glass windows at Annie Pfeiffer Chapel. Frank Lloyd Wright designed this building on the Florida Southern College campus in Lakeland.

When approached in 1938 about designing “a great education temple in Florida”, Frank Lloyd Wright had already gained a reputation as the world’s most imaginative architect. His organic architecture joined the structures with the earth, and his work did not dominate the land but worked in harmony with it. Founded in 1885, Florida Southern College is one of the state’s oldest private colleges. Its 100 acre campus is home to the largest one-site collection of Frank Lloyd Wright architecture in the world.
