The approach to Jingoji Temple in the Takao area north of Kyoto, Japan, is a beautiful short ascent on a forest path.
A flight of stairs leads up towards Jingoji’s Rōmon (“Tower Gate”), which was reconstructed from the original 9th century structure in 1623.
