Japan 2006, Day 7 - Tokyo

2006年の初訪日:7日目(東京)

Short photographic travelogue of day 7 of my first-ever trip to Japan in the spring of 2006.

All photos shot with Nikon digital SLRs, edited in Adobe Lightroom 5.7 / LR Classic.

Day 7 of my first-ever trip to Japan in 2006 was the last day entirely spent in Tokyo, before starting to move in western direction across Japan’s main island, Honshu. In the morning, I went to the East Gardens of the Imperial Palace, and enjoyed the vast space with scattered trees blossoming in different colors.

Afterwards, I ride the subway and Yurikamome monorail to Odaiba, an artificial island in Tokyo Bay. The combination of a replica of the Statue of Liberty and the distinctive architecture of the Fuji TV building make for an interesting photo subject. Generally speaking, Odaiba is dominated by functional modern buildings and highrises.

Odaiba is also home to the Miraikan, officially known as the National Museum of Emerging Science and Innovation. This museum made for a truly interesting visit, and provided some great photographic subjects as well.
