Ullanlinna, Helsinki, Finland

フィンランド・ヘルシンキ・ウランリンナ

Today, we took a short walk around Ullanlinna. The southernmost district of central Helsinki is known for its promenades, parks, and art nouveau architecture.

Our hotel is located conveniently close to Ullanlinna. Early during our walk, we passed this street corner.

We’d had a good and filling breakfast at the hotel, so for lunch we just got a korvapuusti (Finnish cinnamon roll) and a take-out coffee, which we had at a nearby park.

After this snack, we walked in northern direction, and neer Kapteeninpuistikko (Captain’s Park), we saw this vintage Willys Jeep Station Wagon.

A little further on, lots of elegant houses along Korkeavuorenkatu.

Some beautifully decorated shop entrances as well.

As a kind of funny and interesting detail, I came across quite a variety of “Please don’t let your dog do its business here” signs on our walk; here is a small selection.

A unique and stylish building entrance.

Later on, we also visited Johanneksenkirkko (St. John’s Church) and the Design Museum. We really enjoyed exploring this area, and our sentiment is best summarized by this graffiti we found in the area:
