Fushimi Ward in Kyoto is Japan’s second-largest sake-producing area. It is traversed by the pleasant and scenic Horikawa Canal.
Besides being home to the iconic Fushimi Inari Shrine, Kyoto’s Fushimi Ward is known for its sake production. It is possible to visit some of the sake breweries, a few of which are located along Horikawa Canal – where boat tours are available, and locals can be seen walking their dogs. 🙂
