A First Attempt at Alcohol Ink Art

アルコールインクアート

Today, I created my first-ever alcohol ink painting, using all the colors that we have available at the moment.

My wife is an artist, and likes to experiment with different materials. When she recently bought some alcohol inks and matching paper, I felt like I should really be the one using them. Contrary to her, I don’t have much of a sense for drawing people or objects, and the random process of creating alcohol ink artwork seems to be suitable for people like me. Basically, you put alcohol and ink on the drawing paper, and then you make the ink move across the sheet using a variety of different techniques. The result is a unique blend of shapes and colors. Being a complete noob, I was certainly happy with the vivid and random result that I got.

Turns out that it also makes a pretty nice background image for the smartwatch.
