Approach to Ninja Temple, Kanazawa, Japan

石川県・金沢市・妙立寺

A photo taken along the approach to Myoryuji (also known as “Ninja Temple”) in Kanazawa, Japan. I was standing just outside Gannenji Temple when shooting this.

Myoryuji is also known as “Ninja Temple”, having earned this nickname because of its many deceptive defenses such as hidden chambers and stairs, completely unexpected and reversible trap-like doors and floors as well as secret tunnels and escape pits.

Shot with Mamiya 6 and 50mm f/4 lens on Fujicolor Pro 400H medium-format film.
