Walking through the Old Town of Takayama (高山) in Gifu Prefecture, Japan, this photo looks down Sannomachi Street on a rainy afternoon. Many homes and businesses in this area date back to the Edo Period (1600-1868), and some of the area’s tea/coffee houses and sake breweries have been in business for centuries.
