Hanami along the Keage Incline, Kyoto, Japan

Visitors enjoying Hanami (Cherry Blossom Viewing) along the Keage Incline in Higashiyama, Kyoto, Japan. During the Meiji era, this was an important transport route between Kyoto and Lake Biwa. A short rail system had been constructed here to move boats over the change in level between Biwako Canal and the connecting canal along Niomon-Dori.
