Kumamoto Castle in Kumamoto on Kyushu is considered one of the three premier castles in Japan, along with Himeji Castle and Matsumoto Castle. This photo was taken while climbing to the main castle keep, and before the castle was severely damaged during an earthquake in April 2016.
