Dazaifu Tenmangū (太宰府天満宮) is a shrine in Dazaifu, Fukuoka Prefecture, Japan. It is popular with students who visit in order to pray for successful studies (in a similar way like Kitano Tenmangū Shrine in Kyoto).
The older students are writing their wishes and prayers on ema (絵馬), wooden plaques that are left hanging up at the shrine. The building visible in the back of this photo is the Honden (本殿), the Main Hall of Dazaifu Tenmangu.
