A painter at work on a fine autumn day at Hōfukuji Temple (宝福寺) in Sōja, Okayama Prefecture, Japan. Priest Sesshū, Japan’s famous 15th Century painter, studied here as a child, and legend has it that one day during this time, he managed to paint a mouse using only his tears.
