On day 10 of my first trip to Japan in 2006, I met in Nagoya with another local photography buddy, and we took a train to Inuyama. It rained for most of the day, but that didn’t deter us from walking to explore Inuyama Castle. On the way there, we passed Enmyoji Temple.

At the foot of Inuyama Castle is Haritsuna Shrine, where we were surprisingly greeted by a parade of colorful chicken.

Inuyama Castle is a beautiful and fairly compact site. From top of the main tower, there were nice views of the surrounding scenery.

After a fun few hours in Inuyama, I returned to Nagoya, where at night I took some seasonal photos of illuminated Nagoya Castle.
