Nanzenji (南禅寺) is one of the most important Zen temples in all of Japan, located at the base of Kyoto’s forested Higashiyama mountains. It is the head temple of one of the schools within the Rinzai sect of Japanese Zen Buddhism, and is in fact a complex of temple buildings that includes multiple subtemples.
The province of Burgenland is located in Eastern Austria, bordering Hungary. Burgenland and Hungary share Lake Neusiedl (‘Neusiedler See’ in German), Austria’s largest lake, known for its reeds and shallowness as well as for the mild climate throughout the year.
Bad Urach is a spa town located in Southwestern Germany, about 50km / 30 mi. south of Stuttgart.
Asakusa (浅草) is situated at the center of Shitamachi (“low town”), one of Tokyo’s districts where an atmosphere of the Tokyo of past decades survives. The area’s main point of interest is Sensoji (浅草寺), a Buddhist Temple dating back to the 7th Century.
